Galaxy S II Tastes Software Update at Vodafone Australia

Australian mobile phone carrier Vodafone has just announced the availability of a new software update for the Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone on its airwaves, so as to provide users with an enhanced experience when browsing the Internet, it seems.

The new software update is being delivered to users over the air, but they can also download and install it using the Kies Software.

This should be only a minor update for the mobile phone, which means that it would be rather small in size, and that users will be able to download and install it in no time.

However, those who would like to perform the upgrade over the air should still consider downloading the new software over a WiFi connection, provided that they do not have an active data plan.

Also, there are some other things that they should be taking into consideration, such as the fact that the phone's battery needs to be charged at least at 50 percent.

As Samsung notes on its support website, users should also make sure that the handset enjoys a good network coverage (the signal should be of at least 3 bars).

To check whether the new software update is available for their devices, users will simply have to go to Menu > Settings > About Phone > Software Update > Check for Update.

When the “Firmware update required. Download update package?” message appears, they need to select “Yes.” The new firmware will be automatically downloaded and the update process will kick off.

“Please do not switch off your mobile device during this process,” Samsung warns. However, as soon as the update process has completed, the device will turn off, and then back on.

As stated above, users will also be able to install the new software update on their devices via the Samsung PC software (KIES), available for download from Softpedia as well, via this link.
